Stuart was here all day by himself installing cat fencing. My entire backyard is now netted along the fence line to stop the 3 cats getting out. It looks fabulous. I was a bit dubious about having the whole outside area covered but I need not have worried as kittysafe did a marvelous job. Stuart and his team at Kittysafe were amazing. Not only did they support our charity by providing pro bono services, they worked with us until we achieved the perfect design for our enclosure. Whilst our enclosure wasn't for keeping cats in, it is designed to keep cats and other predators out and keep our sick and injured waterbirds in. We had quotes from other companies that said the space would be a challenge to net. Stuart came to the rescue and we couldn't be happier with the results!!! From first point of contact Stuart was very professional and friendly to deal with and offered a very resonable price compared to other quotes we recieved. On the day of install he arrived on time and done a great job with the cat net installed down the side of our house making sure every little area was secure and neat and the quality of his work was great! He ask me to double check the netting before he left to make sure I was happy and fixed any issues without question. Our cat now has a fantastic area outside of his home where he is safe and can climb and jump on the platforms that were installed and laze around on his new favourite hammock!! The general consensus is that most cats are not able to jump more than 1.8m. But every cat is unique! That’s why the cat fence top barrier is angled inward – to get over the fence, your cat would need to climb upside down, and that is something cats don’t like.
Cat fence extensions are visually unobtrusive. Our customers report that the black netting seems to disappear against the sky, which is why we choose black brackets and black netting to make our cat fence extensions.
Using a combination of inwardly angled fence extension brackets and toughened cat netting you can cat proof any fence. There are a few tricks and tips to know about however, so we recommend you get a professional to install your netting to prevent any future disappointments or loss.
Cats are natural climbers, but increasing the height of a fence to at least 1.8m and angling the fence extension inwards will dissuade most felines from attempting a great escape. It’s also important to remove any launching platforms your cat could use to increase their jumping range, such as furniture or trees.
